1. N95 Respirator masks

Who can use N95 masks?

This mask can be used by Industrial workers and Construction workers. These masks are designed for are Industrial Construction workers to use to keep out dust and other particles. The valve masks help in breathing more comfortably and the masks less hot and humid for the wearer. N95 masks without valves are not good for the industrial worker. Some N95 masks, and even some cloth masks, have valves that make them easier to breathe through. Unfortunately, these masks don’t filter the air the wearer breathes out.

It is a mask of cloth that is recommended in order to prevent further transmission in the general population, in a public place, especially where it is not possible in areas of community transmission.

  • All the FDA-cleared N95 masks are referred to as “throw away” disposable devices. If your device is damaged or soiled, or if breathing becomes difficult, remove the mask immediately, dispose of it properly and replace it with a new one. In order to safely remove it from the N95 mask, put it in a sealed plastic bag and throw it in the trash can. Wash your hands after use, and use respiratory protective equipment. 
  • N95 masks are not intended for use by children or people with facial hair. Because a proper fit cannot be achieved on children and people with facial hair, the N95 respirator can make it for a full protection.

How are n95 masks manufactured?

Filter respirators work, not by ‘netting’ particles but by forcing them to navigate a high surface area maze of many layers of filter media.

This concept allows for large unobstructed paths for air to flow through while causing particles to attach to fibres due to some different mechanisms.

To achieve the high surface area required a non-woven fabric manufacturing process known as “melt-blow” use for the filter media.

In this technique high temperature, high-pressure air is used to melt a polymer and polypropylenes while it’s spinning.

This produces a tough yet flexible layer of material composed of small fibers.

Depending on the specifications of the layer produced, this fiber can range from 100um all the way down to about 0.8um in diameter.

N95 masks are designe Concern

Most N95 respirators are manufactured for use in construction and other industrial applications that expose workers to dust and fine particles. What is the n95 mask that is different from the n99 mask ? 

The N95 and N99 masks are currently extremely popular in the  market, due to the high levels of air pollution. 

However, the main difference between the masks and the level of filtering you want. 

The n95 mask filters 95% of dust, dirt and debris, while the n99 mask filters out 99% of dirt and grime. 

Another important difference is that the n95 masks, as they are easier to breathe than the n99 masks, due to the lower breathing resistance at the first time.
